dh Slate Lettering              My name is Dean Humphreys and I am a stone carver of letters and words.  Each artisanal piece is handmade using traditional letter carving techniques with a hammer and chisel.  Working with these simple and time-honored tools is the longer and more difficult method, but I believe the classical process makes all the difference.  The completed stone is a unique piece of American craft – historically significant, culturally relevant and spiritually necessary.
